Week 3

Hello everybody

This week has been very interesting, I learned a lot, I discovered gold mines and I will share all the links, well here is the first link I want to sharem and it is: delicious, yes, as you just read, and it is not related to food ar anything like that. It will help you organize links and add information, discover new stuffs and share with everybody, this is wonderful.

On the other hand, I have visited some projects and I found out how some techers from other countries have worked with their students using technology in a very creative way, I have visited their webpages, blogs and wikis, it's wonderful, I have gotten some ideas on how to work with my students, and needless to say, the amount of links (websites) that I have found. Incredible, amazing fascinating. (I will share with you very soon)

Week 2

Hello everybody

Websearch:
This week has been full of surprices, first of all I want to mention that I never suspected that there were so many search engines I was only familiar with the most popular (google, yahoo, bing and ask) but I found this site: list of search engines and by the way, this webpage also has a video search engine, and I also discovered this one:  Phil Bradleys website and the types of search engines. With all this information people sometimes feel overwhelm, so here I recommend some tips that will help you improve the quality of your searches. Here you will find more interesting articles related to search engines and technology, have you wonder: what's the future of search engines?.

Bloom's taxonomy and the ABCD model.
I admit that I was familiar with Bloom's taxonomy but not with digital's taxonomy, by the way, why is this important? it will help us a lot when formulating learning objectives, creating lesson plans, and designing syllabus. I found some articles that thoroughly describe the lower order of thinking skills (LOTS) and the higher order of thinking skills (HOTS) and also the domains and subdomains of thinking skills, follow this link for more information.

I discovered a nice method to state our learning objectives, after reading these articles and some slides I was able to describe my L.O. in a clear way, using the ABCD model (Audience, Behaviour, Condition and Degree),
I think that this course is leading us step by step to create bigger goals and to achieve our final project.

In general I think that this week has been very productive, all of the activities in wich we were engaged: commenting blogs, post on the nicenet, reading articles, visiting websites, updating our blogs, I am so grateful for this.

Week 1

Wow

What a week, and it's only week 1, there has been a lot of learning here, first I'd like to say that I like the organization of the content in our wiki, our site and the ICA in fact I want to learn to create spaces like this for my students. I also learned that it is important to set the rules for discussions because it helps to create a good environment for our interaction.

One of the tasks for this week was to create a blog (the one you are reading), it was exciting, I also learned that there are 3 different types of blogs and why we should use them (it's a powerful tool and it's free), more information here and here, I also visited some tutor, class and learner blogs.

This week has been wonderful.

this is our site

Hello world

Hi everyone!

This is my very first post, and I just want to introduce myself and let all know what this blog is about!

First of all my name is Victor Montejo, I am from Acapulco Gro Mexico, I am an English teacher and I have been teaching for about 12 years, now I am working at the University of my state (UAGro) here I teach several subjects one of the is technologies applied to ELT and this is why I decided to take part of this wonderful course, I hope I get to know all of the participants in this course and establish long lasting relationships.

This blog will be used as a reflective journal, a place to think out loud about what I've seen and done in the course, and how I'm incorporating what I'm learning into my teaching and context.

Saludos!!!
